Future uncertain for Frist's VOLPAC.

Dec. 1--The political action committee of U.S. Senate Majority Leader Bill Frist, R-Tenn. -- who announced earlier this week that he will not run for president in 2008 -- will continue to operate, an official said Thursday. "VOLPAC will remain," committee spokeswoman Janey Rudd said. "It's just unclear in what capacity." Ms. Rudd said most of the Volunteer PAC's remaining money -- almost $290,000 in cash on hand was reported to the Federal Election Commission through Oct. 18 -- will be used for internal operations costs.
