Fed: Families gather to discuss legal action over swiss disaster
SYDNEY, April 2 AAP - The Australian families of victims of last year's Swiss canyoning
disaster will meet in two weeks to discuss possible legal action over the tragedy, the
Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) said today.
The families of the 14 Australian victims will meet with two Swiss lawyers from a Swiss
victims support group in Sydney on April 18, the DFAT spokesman said.
"It is an opportunity for the families to be brought up to date on the legal process," he said.
He said the lawyers would also inform the families of the legal options available to them.
Fourteen young Australians were among 21 people killed while canyoning at Interlarken,
in the Swiss Alps, last year.
