EASTON MANAGES TO MAINTAIN ITS COUNTRYSIDE LOOK.(AT HOME)

The countryside in the town of Easton has changed little since the late 1700s, when it was tamed for agricultural purposes.

The town, which is situated in the southwest corner of Washington County, is filled with well-kept family farms and postcard views of rolling valleys and mountains.

In 1961, more than a dozen farmers in Easton banded together to protect farmland from encroaching housing developments and industries. They also agreed not to sell their land and formed what today is an official ``state agricultural district.''
